HOUSE OF BLUES

Back in April, we went to the House of Blues, in Anaheim (at Downtown Disney), and ate dinner.
There are multiple House of Blues locations.
http://www.houseofblues.com/

Once again, I ordered the mac and cheese off of the children's menu.  The main menu, for adults, also had mac and cheese on it, but it was a lobster version.

Appearance  -  6
Taste - 8
Cheesiness   - 4

Total score : 18

The flavor had a bit of a kick.

Little brother rated everything a 7 (so 21 out of 30).
Mom comments: a 6.5 for flavor.  It wasn't bad.  But it really wasn't cheesy at all, more of a "bready" flavor.

More about the restaurant -  the Shirley Temple was really good.  There was a lot of very colorful artwork on the walls and scattered about.  It was a really busy night, but the waiter was very pleasant and service was very quick.

Though the mac and cheese wasn't very cheesy, I'd eat it again.

Chicago for Ribs

There are multiple locations, but the one we went to was in San Pedro, CA.  http://www.chicagoforribssanpedro.com/

I ordered mac and cheese off the children's menu.  See the picture.

Now the ratings-

Appearance -  6
Taste - 7.5
Cheesiness -  6.5

Total score:  20 (out of 30)

 It melts in your mouth!
Side dishes- I asked for fries, but you can also get fruit or corn on the cob.  The fries are waffle fries, you can see the potato skin.  You have a choice between corn bread or a dinner roll.  I always get the corn bread. It's really good, really big, and it comes with honey butter.

Mom rates the taste at 6.5.  She said it's light with a bit of a tang.
Little brother gave it a 10 for cheesiness, "lots of cheesy".  The taste, in the middle, a 6.  Once you bite it, the cheesiness will melt in your mouth.

So if you want mac and cheese that melts in your mouth, order some from Chicago for Ribs.
(with corn bread!)

Cafe Orleans, Disneyland

Way back in January of 2010, we sat down to eat at the Cafe Orleans at Disneyland (Anaheim, California).  It's located in the New Orleans Square part.  Notice I said "sat down".  This is not the typical Disneyland food place where you stand in line to get your food, then pay, then sit down.  It's like a regular restaurant where you order and they bring your food to you.  Except it's outside.  At Disneyland.

Appearance:  7
Taste :            9
Cheesiness:     9

Overall rating:  25

The texture was creamy.   The shape was long spiral pasta with little black dots in it (pepper maybe?).
Mom rates it a flavor of 7, slightly above average and the Kraft standard of 6.

Not much else to say but, who cares?  You're at Disneyland !!  Go on some rides.

The Old Spaghetti Factory

There are multiple locations for the Old Spaghetti Factory.  http://www.osf.com/

Back in August of 2011, we ate at the one in Newport Beach, CA.   The decor reminded me of old Italy. (I haven't actually been there, but I've seen pictures).  I ordered the mac and cheese off the children's menu and was very pleased.

Appearance -  8
Taste -           10
Cheesiness -   9

Overall rating - 27 ! (out of 30).

The texture was heavy and cheesy.  The pasta was shaped like small tubes.
My mom gave it an 8.5 on flavor.
My little brother didn't get to rate it because I didn't let him try it.  It was too good.

My final word, "It's like digesting heaven!"

The Auld Dubliner, Irish Pub and Restaurant

We went to the Auld Dubliner Irish Pub; there are multiple locations but we visited the Long Beach, CA one.
http://www.aulddubliner.com/

It was really loud, crowded, and hard to get a table.  Our food took a long time to get.

Rating:     Appearance - 5
               Taste -         7.5
                Cheesiness -  3
Overall - 15.5 (out of 30)

I would describe the texture as medium crispy with a gooey cheesiness.

This seems like a low rating, but I would definitely go there again and order this again.  I would find out when it was not crowded, so we could get our food faster.

Mom rating - the mac and cheese was very different.  It was thick and dense, with a white cheddar sauce. Mom gives it a 6 for flavor.  It comes with really good spicy fries and homemade applesauce.

Little Brother rating - it is good but not enough cheese, and too much macaroni.  7 for flavor.
"It looks like mac and cheese, but it's not."

Comments, please!
