Acapulco Mexican Restaurant and Cantina

We ate at Acapulco's a couple times (first in January of 2010, then again last week), and I ordered their mac and cheese, called Mariachi-roni and Cheese. This is a chain restaurant and there are multiple locations.

The M-A-C is shell shaped, with a creamy cheese sauce.  Mom notes that there is an extra layer of shredded cheese (possibly parmesan) sprinkled on top.

Now my ratings:
Appearance -
Taste -           9
Cheesiness-   6

Overall score of 23. Not bad.
It has a good ending.
Mom and little brother both give it a 7 for taste.
Little brother says it has a cheesiness of 4, and melts in your mouth.  The pasta is well-cooked and very soft, not al dente.

Finally, both times I got this, it was served PIPING HOT!!  So, be careful out there.

Pea Soup Andersen's

In March of 2010, we visited Pea Soup Andersen's in Buellton, California.

I liked the decorations.  It looked like a cool place.  I looked forward to the M-A-C.
But... then I tried it.

Appearance :    7 (nice-looking elbow-shaped macaroni)
Taste :              2
Cheesiness :     6

Overall score out of a possible 30 : 15

It tasted weird, like peas.

Mom rating : 4 for taste. It was very mild flavored, and not very cheesy.  However, the portion size was very large.
Little brother rating:  5 for taste. "It's not very cheesy, but very creamy".

My recommendation - skip the Mac & Cheese and order the grilled cheese instead.  It was better.
